Ms. De La Rosa grew up with little means. Her father and mother immigrated to the United States in the 1980s from Mexico. As a young child, Ms. De La Rosa would fundraise to attend academic trips that her school would host. Her strength and endurance shined so brightly that she was hand-picked to participate in a special program funded by Bill & Melinda Gates - Middle College High School. At the age of 14, she began attending college classes while also earning her high school diploma.

Despite the many odds against her, she fought for her education. She knew that a law degree would allow her to pursue her passion of helping people in need and being a voice for them. She put herself through college. While attending college, she participated in a community service-based organization called “Mujeres Ayundando La Raza”, comprised of young Latina college students committed to helping the community and educating young low-income students about receiving a higher education and how to do that.

Ms. De La Rosa earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from California State University of Sacramento and immediately secured an internship with the San Joaquin County Bar Association, where she could put her skills to use in the community.

Ms. De La Rosa attended law school at night, while working full-time as a civil paralegal during the day. During law school, Ms. De La Rosa also served as an advocate for offenders with substance abuse problems in a rehabilitation program founded by the San Joaquin County Superior Court and Humphreys University. She gave them a voice by fighting for success in their future.

Ms. De La Rosa received her Juris Doctorate from Lawrence Drivon School of Law at Humphreys University in 2018. After passing the Bar exam, she became a Civil attorney and handled every stage of civil cases. She negotiated and settled cases pre-litigation, and also handled the litigation side of cases including drafting complaints, handling mediations, arbitrations, and trial prep. Ms. De La Rosa has also acquired a considerable amount of criminal defense experience. She became a Deputy Public Defender with the San Joaquin County Public Defender’s office in 2021. There, she handled an array of criminal matters ranging from Misdemeanors to Felonies – she handled arraignments, negotiations, bail pitches, preliminary hearings, trials, etc. Ms. De La Rosa has handled various types of criminal case such as: DUIs, domestic violence, felony strikes, possession, gun charges, gang enhancements, inter alia. Her zealous advocacy skills and passion are present in all that she does. Ms. De La Rosa is currently pursuing her passion of being an immigration attorney.
